Transfer and Termination of Cypriot Servers

We announced in Q2 of 2018 that we would begin withdrawing our servers from Cyprus in Q1 of 2021 and transferring the servers and services provided via those servers to other data centres. The process of transferring both Virtual and Managed client servers from that data centre began in Q4 of 2018 and was fully completed three months behind schedule at the end of Q3 2020, which delay was occasioned by the current pandemic situation.

Services which are still available at the Larnaca data centre will continue to be available until 23rd December 2020, at which point all servers at that data centre will be shut down, which will bring us back into line with our originally scheduled sunset date of 31st December 2020. Clients who are still accessing products and services via the Larnaca data centre will be contacted in the coming weeks to ensure that IP addresses and address ranges are updated prior to the end of the calendar year.

We would take a moment to remind technical and support staff that changing the IP address or range at which a product or service is accessed may also require firewall settings for client-side internal networks be modified. Updated allow and blocklist settings, for easier firewall setting updates are available inside our technical portal and in the Web FAQ section.

Any issue or unanticipated behaviour which is discovered during the sundown period should be reported as usual through the report an issue page.
